The adventure to find an appropriate home for my then little bunny to be was interesting, and confusing all at once. After long hours of agonizing over what not to do, what to do, and the contradictory claims of all websites I finally came up with my bullet points and plans.
- No Pine or Cedar
- More Room = Happy Rabbit
- Walls higher then 3 ft. in case of a renegade jumper
- Floors that allowed for easy cleaning
After surfing the web, I found that I liked the idea of an open cage on top. The usage of a pen satisfied what I sought for, because somehow I find little cages too confining, and the grids of the cube cages to be confining as well. The cube idea is brilliant though, and I plan on implementing those in creating a barrier around the bottom of the bed ^^. Needless to say I realized that I needed to find a hard surface to put the pen on as we have carpeting, so we ended up buying 4 2′X6′ pieces of wood, and covered them in plastic sheeting to avoid having the wood soaking in any urine. After that we put a piece of 4′X6′ of flannel over the top to make it soft, and voila! a floor :D. It seems she likes it and its funny seeing her running around the pen. I’ll be sure to put pictures up later ^_~.
